  1. Women in Cloud Launches Cohort 6.0 of Microsoft Cloud Accelerator 1888PressRelease - WIC’s $1B global economic access mission is getting closer to being realized as the 6.0 cohort of women technology entrepreneurs join the Microsoft Cloud Accelerator. Women in Cloud (WiC), a community-led economic development organization supporting and promoting the growth of women in technology and entrepreneurial ventures, announced the 6.0 cohort of the WIC Microsoft Cloud Accelerator, which launched virtually on August 27, 2021. Announced ahead of the signature event #WICxUNGA, this accelerator enables female technology founders to leverage the power of partnering with hyperscalers like Microsoft to become enterprise-ready. Women in Cloud has successfully graduated 60+ women-led companies over the last five cohorts along with focus on global expansion to 9 countries around the world: United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, India, Kenya, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates. The program is designed to help women technology founders win enterprise opportunities, get access to Azure credits, an advisor & investor community, participate in MS Startup program and a global stage to showcase their businesses while co-building, co-marketing and co-selling with Microsoft and their distribution channels. Having led five cohorts successfully, Chaitra Vedullapalli, President and Co-founder, Women in Cloud was thrilled about the next part of the journey. Commenting on the mission she said, “The irony is spectacular; an industry fueling trillion-dollar economic impact has less than 8 percent patents belonging to women as primary inventors, women with less than one-fifth of spots on the boards and just 2.3 percent of VC funding goes to women-owned startups. A change is critical. At Women in Cloud Microsoft Accelerator, our vision is to create a steady flow of enterprise-ready cloud solutions that will increase female founder representation in the supplier ecosystem while unlocking one billion dollars in net new cloud economy. Our mission has just begun.” The Cloud Accelerator combines structured training, access to industry leaders, industry events, self-learning content, and more, all via digital platforms making the accelerator accessible to women-led businesses worldwide. The Women in Cloud leadership is excited to announce the acceptance of the following companies in 6.0 cohort of their award-winning Microsoft Cloud Accelerator: rThreat: rThreat is a breach and attack emulation platform that challenges your cyber defenses using real world and custom threats in a secure environment.
