  6. Sandra Whitehouse, Ph.D. – Senior Policy Advisor, Ocean Conservancy Dr. Whitehouse is currently focused on Coastal & Marine Spatial Planning (CMSP) and ocean acidification programs. A longtime environmental advocate and policy advisor, she has used her expertise in marine science to help shape environmental initiatives in Rhode Island and on the federal level, Dr. Whitehouse has worked as an environmental consultant for the past fifteen years, providing research, analysis, and advice on environmental policy issues to a number of clients including the Ocean Conservancy. She is currently a member of the Advisory Board for the Consortium for Ocean Leadership. Dr. Whitehouse holds a B.S. from Yale and a Ph.D. in biological oceanography from the Graduate School of Oceanography at the University of Rhode Island. www.themaritimealliance.org

  7. Mark Cafferty – President & CEO, SD Regional EDC Mark Cafferty became President & CEO at San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation (EDC) in January 2012. Cafferty has more than 18 years' experience in creating jobs and fostering job growth and recently recognized as the San Diego Business Journal's Most Admired Nonprofit CEO and one of The Daily Transcript's Top Influentials for 2011. Previous to joining SDREDC, Cafferty was President & CEO of San Diego Workforce Partnership since 2008 and earlier their Chief Operating Officer. He increased the workforce training organization's budget by more than 30 percent, managed a one-time award of $25 million under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and secured more competitive grants than at any time in the past six years. www.themaritimealliance.org
