Chart Formats • ENC format options • ENCs as supplied by Primar and AdmiraltyCould be described as raw ENCs – cells and updates have to be compiled from the raw S-57 to SENC format before they can be used by ECDIS – takes a long time. • SENC, eg CM-ENC as supplied by C-Map the same official S-57 data pre-compiled into SENC format. Dramatically quicker to install and update than “raw” S-57 ENCs.
