SAFETY STUDY PRESENTATION Proposed LONG TERM Countermeasures • Reduce the operating speed on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard from 55 miles per hour to 35 miles per hour between the Market Street Overpass Bridge and Main Street / Howard Street • Perform a pavement improvement on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard from the west end of the project limits to the Main Street / Howard Street intersection • Construct a second eastbound left turn lane at the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard / Main Street / Howard Street Intersection • Convert the left turn movement on all four (4) approaches from protected/permitted to protected-only at the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard / Main Street / Howard Street intersection • Reconstruct the traffic signal at the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard / Main Street / Howard Street intersection • Change Configuration of Southbound Howard Street Approach

SAFETY STUDY PRESENTATION Current project schedule • Traffic Feasibility Study, Cost & Funding Evaluation: July 2012 thru May 2013 • Intersection Safety Study: Completed April 2014 • Stage 1 Plan Development: On-Going, Completed November 2014 • Stage 2 & 3 Plan Development: Completed November 2015 • Right-of-Way Acquisition: None Required; All Work Within Existing R/W • Utility Relocations: Minor, Completed as Part of Project • Construction: March 2016 thru November 2017
