2009 OVERVIEW OF MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS • The Lawyers’ Committee Successfully: • Navigated the financial currents that swamped the majority of non-profits • Had great fundraising year: Higginbotham Dinner ($1.9 million), More Grants, increased AFD: Danwill describe more • Achieved litigation success: Jonwill describe • Advocated for confirmation of Justice Sonia Sotomayor to Supreme Court of the United States • Retooled internal structure by creating Public Policy Department to • more advantageously engage new Obama Administration and Congress in restoring civil rights law enforcement and advancing civil rights agenda • Added LMP Project to maximize pro bono law firm involvement in large scale volunteer lawyer projects: Jonwill describe more • Created New Legal Programs • -Loan Modification Scam Prevention Network: Jonwill describe

2010 General Board Goals Cont. B. Minimum goal of four (4) meetings during the year for Project Support Committees (encourage Board member discussion and assignments). C. Urge all Board members to join a Committee D. Urge Board members to be involved in all Lawyers’ Committee cases and projects at their firm or corporation. 4. Diminish the “Distance Gap” by conducting more frequent regional meetings and Board visits in 13 cities with largest Board member concentrations: • Atlanta • Boston • Charlotte • Chicago • Los Angeles • Miami • Minneapolis • New York City • Philadelphia • Phoenix • San Francisco • Seattle • Washington, DC 5. Utilize videoconferencing, provide other opportunities for Board members to interact with each other, and contemplate multi-day annual meeting of Board.
