  3. The Basics The Final Grade At The ILI Is 100 . It Has Two Parts: Final Exam It Has 100 Points That Is Calculated For The Final Grade Like This: 100 * 0.4 = 40

  5. CLASS ACTIVITY

  6. It Has 60 Points Of The Final Grade And It Is Calculated Like This: 100 * 0.6 = 60 There Are Three Parts To It:

  7. Listening & Speaking : 30 Points Reading : 20 Points Writing : 10 Points

  8. 60 + 40 = 100 Class Activity Final Exam FINAL GRADE

  9. Now Let’s See How A Grade Sheet Looks And Talk a little About Each Part :

  10. L/S(listening /Speaking) 1- Dialog (Basic/Elementary/Pre Intermediate/Intermediate) A Dialog Must Be -Memorized Well -Performed Well( At Least Like The CD )

  11. Note : Just Memorizing a Dialog Well Is Not Enough. It Must Be With Good Intonation And Pronunciation.

  12. 2-summary (Pre Intermediate To Advanced 3)

  13. Do You Know Why Summary Is So Important And a Bit Hard ?

  14. Because It Shows: 1- That You Can Use An English To English Dictionary 2- That Your Pronunciation And Intonation Are Good 3- That You Can Use Grammar To Make Sentences 4- That Your Reading Comprehension Is Good 5- That You Have Confidence 6- That You Are Interested and Hardworking

  15. Note : Memorizing The Passage With Little Difference From The Sentences Of The Original Passage Is Not Good.

  16. 3- Answering The Questions (The Teacher Or The Students) • This Shows Your Ability To Listen ,Understand And Give The Correct Answer To Questions In Full Sentences. • Note • When The Question Has No Problem But The Student Asks His Classmate Or The Teacher To Repeat The Question , It Shows That The Student’s Listening Or Speaking Is Weak.

  17. 4- Directed Discourse(Elementary1 To Pre 3) You Must Ask And Answer The Questions In Full Sentences Correctly And Completely And Be Ready For Some Other Questions About The First Questions

  18. 5- Spoken Drills (Basic 1 To Inter 3) This Part Does Not Normally Have Any Grades But If You Can’t Be With The Class Because You Don’t Know The Vocabulary It Has Some Negative Marks.

  19. 6- Listening( Follow Up )(Basic 1 To Advanced 3) The Teacher Gives You Time To Practice With You Friends And Then Asks You To Talk. You Must Talk Well Here .

  20. 7- Communication Activity(workbook)(Basic 1 To Inter 3) You Must Practice At Home. You Must Not Write Anything In Your Workbook. Just Practice. Then In The Class The Teacher Gives You Some Time To Practice With Your Friends ,Too. Then The Teacher Asks You… .

  21. Remember The Teacher Can Not Give You Grades Out Of 100 For Some Of These Important Class Activities Like Spoken Drills, Directed Discourse, follow ups, etc. So She / He Gives You Positive Or Negative Marks That Can Change A Lot During The Semester Until The Time Of The Final Exam.

  23. Reading The Passage Has Two Parts

  24. 1- The Reading ( Just Reading The Passage) (Basic To Advanced 3) You Read some Part or All Of The Passage And The Teacher Gives You Grades . Your Pronunciation ,Comprehension And Intonation Must Be Good Enough Here .

  25. 2- Summary of The Passage The Teacher Gives You Grades And Puts It For Your Listening And Speaking Part

  26. Note You Must Also Read The Reading Comprehension Questions , New Words of Each Unit, Workbook Exercises, Etc. Well Because The Teacher Gives You Grades For Them ,Too.

Remember • The Teacher Can Not Give You Grades Out Of 100 For Some Of These Important Class Activities Like Reading Comprehension Questions , New Words of Each Unit, Workbook Exercises, Etc. • So He / She Gives You Positive Or Negative Marks That Can Change A Lot During The Semester Until The Time Of The Final Exam.

  28. WRITING

  29. Your Writing Must Look Nice And Be Correct. It Means : 1- You Must Write The Right Number Of Questions That The Teacher Tell You To Make. 2- You Must Do All The Exercises of The Workbook And Bring Them To Class. 3-You Must Not Have Too Many Mistakes In Your Writing Homework ( Workbook And Notebook)

  30. AND NEVER FORGET THESE IN CLASS !
