At the center of the city is the impressive Mont Royal, a 230 meter mountain. The city was originally discovered by Jacques Cartier in 1535 and was officially founded as a city in 1642.Today Montréal is Canada's second largest city with a population of approximately 3.4 million and is the largest bilingual city in the country. It is a stunning, eclectic and vibrant city rich in history and tradition spanning 470 years.
