  3. SHORTLISTING PROCESS Ø WHAT IS SHORTLISTING The short listing process is to identify the applicants best meet with the university requirements. Ø WHY IS SHORTLISTING IMPORTANT 1. If a student does not adopt a scientific approach in choosing universities, they may end up applying to the wrong universities. 2. Applying to universities which do not suite the student’s profile will lead to rejections from those universities. 3. Applying to wrong universities and getting rejections is a waste of time, money and effort.

  4. HOW TO DO A SHORTLISTING Following are the parameters to start the short listing process. 1. Academic achievements 2. Program and Country Preference. 3. Try to figure out students budget towards his studies 4. GPA and test scores are considered for the University shortlisting process. 5. Understand the work exp/internships, publication(if any), extra curricular activities and International Exposure(if any) 6. Providing the University short List with the categorization.

  5. DREAM: These schools are usually the most competitive out of the enlisted universities. In percentage terms, the student has 50% chances of obtaining admission. REACH: These schools are ‘within the reach’ of the student. In percentage terms, the student has 50–80% chances of obtaining admission.
