  4. Operation 1a: Loading a subtitle file • Click the "File/Load Subtitle" menu or press [Ctrl]+[O] keys • Dialog  select the right filter, "All supported files" text click the arrow and select the format of the file • Press the Open button FLUP - Françoise Bacquelaine - Elena Z Galvão

Operation 1b: Loading a video file • Click the "Movie/Open" menu or press the [Ctrl]+[P] keys • If you get the "File is not a valid video file" error message, make sure you have the right codecs installed. • If you don't, download Coda Codec Pack and convert the file to a supported format FLUP - Françoise Bacquelaine - Elena Z Galvão

  6. Operation 2: Create a new file • Click the "File/New subtitle..." menu or press [Ctrl]+[N] keys • Add subtitles • Save the file by the "File/Save" menu or pressing [Ctrl]+[S] keys FLUP - Françoise Bacquelaine - Elena Z Galvão

Other operations: Adding subtitles • Press the Insert key or click the "Edit/Insert subtitle" menu Note: • The subtitle will always be added right after the focused item. • Default duration of the new subtitle =1 second, start time = final time of the previous one plus 1 millisecond. • If you are adding the subtitle in a blank list, initial time = zero. • If you want to insert a subtitle before the selected item, press [Shift]+[Insert] keys or the "Edit/Insert before" menu.   8. Other operations: Deleting subtitles • Select all the subtitles you wish to delete by holding Ctrl key + click them • Press the Delete key or click the "Edit/Remove selected" menu. FLUP - Françoise Bacquelaine - Elena Z Galvão

  9. Other operations: Manually edit a subtitle Every subtitle is composed of three parts: • The initial time • The final time • The text Subtitle Workshop lets you easily edit any of these fields. FLUP - Françoise Bacquelaine - Elena Z Galvão

  10. Other operations: Manually edit the initial and final time of a subtitle To edit the initial time • click the "Show" field • set the time (or frames) • press [Enter]. To edit the final time • click the "Hide" field • set the time (or frames) • press [Enter]. FLUP - Françoise Bacquelaine - Elena Z Galvão

Other operations: Manually edit a subtitle’s initial and final time • You can also edit the final time of a subtitle by changing the "Duration" field. • Additionally, you can edit any of this time values using the Up-Down buttons at the right side of each text box.
