Enhancing Dental Program Reviews: Insights from Dr. Tim Ricks in Albuquerque
Dr. Tim Ricks, the Area Dental Officer, evaluates dental programs through a comprehensive review tool consisting of 176 criteria across eight sections. This scorecard integrates multiple standards, including IHS tools, OSHA, EPA, and Dental Safety Net, and has been effectively used in the Nashville Area for seven years. The feedback from these reviews, which will occur every 2-3 years, has been both positive and constructive. In FY 2014, focus will be on providing additional support to sites needing it and tailoring continuing education to address common issues identified in the reviews.
