  1. LCLS Linac Meeting • General meeting to integrate systems • More details in system meetings (e.g., RF or ESD) • Review status and schedule, provide communication • Once per two weeks – Wed. at 9:30here in Alexander? • Linac Introduction (P. Emma) • Construction and Installation Schedule (E. Bong) • Corrector Upgrade (P. Emma, W. Linebarger) • Linac BPM upgrade ? (R. Johnson) • Bunch Length Monitors ? (P. Krejcik) • Questions, comments, ideas ?

  2. LCLS Linac Design • New injection point at 21-1a • Two new chicanes (at 21-2 and 24-7) • Rebuild FFTB using existing magnets

  3. L1-Linac and BC1 Optics • Remove five 10-ft RF sections (21-2a,b,c,d & 21-3a) • Cut down two 10-ft long acc. sections to 9.4-ft • 9 new quads, 4 bends, 8 BPMs (plus correctors) • New 60-cm long X-band RF section at 21-2a • 4 new wire scanners, two new screens (OTR?), 1 x-collimator

  4. L2-Linac Optics 4 new wire-scanners • No new magnets in L2 (except corrector upgrade) • One new 25-A bulk quadrupole supply in each of sectors 23 & 24 • 4 new wire scanners

  5. BC2 Optics • Remove eight 10-ft RF sections (24-7a,b,c,d & 24-8a,b,c,d) • 4 new quads, 4 bends, 4 BPMs (plus correctors) • New 2-m long super-conducting wiggler magnet at 24-7a • 1 new screen and x-collimator in chicane

  6. Optics in L3-Linac move 2 existing sector-28 wire-scanners Transverse Deflector (25-5a) screen (Q25-901) • No new magnets in L3 (except corrector upgrade) • One new 25-A bulk quadrupole supply in each of sectors 25-29 • move two existing wire scanners • Move transverse RF deflector from 29-4 to 25-5a and add screen at 25-901

  7. Optics Through DL2 (uses existing FFTB bends and quads) undulator • Rebuild FFTB using existing FFTB magnets and BPMs • 5 new wire scanners + 2 screens • 2 new vertical bend magnets • Move single-beam dumper magnet & dump to FFTB or BSY

  8. Proposed Responsibilities • RF systems (R. Akre, A. Hill) • Mech. engineering for L1/BC1 (L. Eriksson, E. Bong) • Diagnostics, [e.g., bunch-length monitors] (P. Krejcik) • Power conversion [& controls?] (W. Linebarger) • BPMs upgrade (R. Johnson) • Magnets [BC1 + 1Q5.6] (C. Spencer) • S.C. Wiggler (J. Welch) • e- dump (M. Woodley) • Operations liaison (M. Stanek)
