  1. Bratislava Our Region

  2. Something about Bratislava • Bratislava is the capital city of Slovakia. We have five districts here. Statistics about Bratislava: population 462,603,size 367.584 km2, and we have 5 bridges : The New Bridge, Old Bridge, Lafranconi Bridge, Bridge Apollo, Harbour bridge. • You can find Bratislava on a mobile app called Trip Advisor.

  3. Sights There are many sights in Bratislava, such as: • Grassalkovič’s palace – it’s the president’s residence. • Michael’s gate – This is one of the four gates leading to the center of Bratislava, but only this one still exists. • The St. Martin’s cathedral – This was the place where kings and queens got coronated. • The Old Town – It’s the historical center of the town, where most of the sights are located. It’s probably the best place you can visit in Bratislava.

  4. Folklore • In Bratislava there is no shortage of folklore groupswhatsoever. There are folklore performances almost every week. Once a year the best groups perform in the Bratislava castle. • The best Slovak folklore group is Lúčníca, it travels all across the world. • We have one of the fanciest folklore tradition in Europe. Every region has its own types of dancing, singing, and costumes. If you visit Bratislava, you should really go to one of these performances. • Here is a little sneak peek of what you can expect: (insert folk video here)

  5. Sports If you like sports, especially hockey, this is the place for you. Our hockey team Slovan Bratislava plays KHL on the new stadium. If you like football you can watch Slovan Bratislava play Slovak league. If you are a fan of tennis we have the National Tennis Centre. Our national team plays there. If you like playing any of these sports you can play them all across Bratislava. We have a cycling path leading to Austria. You can rent a bike and go for a trip.

  6. Devin Castle • It was being during 864 to 15th century. • It was blown up during the Napoleonic wars in 1809. Since then, it’s only ruins (partially reconstructed). • It was built in a strategic position. What makes it a strategic position is that it’s on a 212 metres high cliff and most importantly its right in front of confluence of Danube and Morava. • You can go there by boat.

  7. Shopping • If you are fan of shopping we have some shopping centres for you. • We have Central, Avion Shopping centre and Aupark. • But the best is Eurovea. Its by Danube, you can walk there, stare at the bridges, watch the boats as they go by and of course shop. • There are many shops with clothes. There’s a cinema in there too.

  8. Slovakia ring • There is something for lovers of fast cars too. We have the Slovakia ring which is near Bratislava. • A lot of popular racing series such as WTCC race there. • If there are such races, there are the fastest and rarest cars in the world such as the Bugatti Veyron.
