1. PHOTOGRAPHY – THINGS TO EXAMINE AND ADVICE FOR BEGINNERS! Photography! It is an amazing art that freezes the moment even after the action was done. So, first of all, you need to learn to hold a camera correctly. Hold the camera using both hands. One around the lenses and around the body of the camera. Also, make sure you hold it close to your body for support.

2. The most important thing here is to make sure you use the shutter speed, which is appropriate to your camera lens’ focal length. The rule of thumb is not to shoot at a shutter speed that is lesser than the focal length. If your shutter speed is too slow the camera will result in photography coming out blurry. 2. Rule of Thirds This rule helps you in taking eye-catchy pictures. If you want to take pictures that have a “wow” factor, then the Rule of Thirds is the secret behind it. The rule of thirds means nothing but placing an image in 9-girds. Imagine two lines horizontally and two vertically across the image creating nine even squares. With the 9-grids, images look best with the focal point in the center square. But for some, placing the subject off-center at one of the intersecting points of the imaginary lines can create more beautiful photography. An image captured using the rule of thirds is pleasing to the eye. 3. Control Over the Triangle You need to master the three basics: Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO for resulting in the best photos. Understand the relationships between the three controls. The relation between these three is when you adjust one of them, you have to consider at least one of the others, to get the desired results.

3. Auto Mode takes care of these controls. But by using the auto mode, your photos may not look the way you wanted them. 4. Polarizing Filter If you are affordable with only one lens for your camera then probably go for polarized ones. Better go for a circular type of polariser. Because it allows your camera to use TTL metering such as auto exposure. It helps in reducing reflections from water as well as metal and glass. It also improves the colours of the sky and foliage which results in the wow factor for your photos. It does all this in addition to the protection of your lens. 5. Sense of Depth If you are planning to photograph landscapes, try to create a sense of depth and make the viewer feel like they are there. To result in this, use a wide-angle lens for a panoramic view and a small aperture to keep the foreground and background sharp. Place the subject in the foreground to give a sense of how far away the distance is.

Avoid Flashy Indoors Flash can make things unnatural especially for indoor portraits. Try to be innovative, you can take an image indoors without flash in various ways. First, push the ISO up 800 to 1600 for the shutter speed and use the widest aperture for more light to reach the sensor. As a result, you will have a nice blurred background. Or else use a tripod or an image stabilization lens to avoid blur. If you really want to use the flash, then use a flash by pointing the light to the ceiling at an angle.

5. 7. Concentrate on the Background Choose the background that is quite simple, which helps in focusing on the subject. In digital photography, the simple approach is usually the best while not including anything distracting. If possible, try out a plain background with neutral colours and simple patterns. You need to drag the eye to the focal point of the image. This is especially vital in photography where the model is placed off-center. 8. ISO Control ISO is your camera’s sensitivity to light – a lower ISO value is less sensitive to light, whereas a higher ISO value is more sensitive. We need to choose the ISO depending on the situation. If it is dark, we need to push the ISO to a higher number from 400 – 3200. This will make the camera more sensitive to light and then we are able to avoid blurring. Set the ISO 100 on sunny days or choose the auto setting as we have more light to work.

6. 9. Pan – Motion Creation Use the panning technique to capture a subject in motion. For this, choose a shutter speed two steps lower than necessary. Keep your camera on the subject and lock the focus with your finger halfway down on the shutter. Remember to follow them as they move while taking the photo. 10. Interesting Effects with Shutter Speed Experiment with shutter speed. Use a tripod and shoot with the shutter speed of 4 seconds for night photography. With this, you will be able to see the movement of the object. If you set a faster shutter speed, then trails will not be as long or bright. Try shooting moving objects such as waves on a beach with different shutter speeds. Make sure the camera is stabilized in order to avoid camera shake while using slow shutter speeds.
