  3. Questions…? • What are your “Pre-Set” buttons? • What does it mean to be humble? • What gets in the way of your humbleness? 5

  4. They said, “Does the Lord only speak through Moses? Does he not also speak through us? And the Lord heard this, Moses was a very humble man, more so than any man on the face of the earth. Numbers 12:2-3 6

  5. If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and forgive their sin and will heal their land. II Chronicles 7:14 6

  6. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:29 7

  7. He has brought down rulers from their thrones…but has lifted up the humble. Luke 1:52 7

  8. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Ephesians 4:2 7

  9. “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” James 4:6 8

  10. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up. James 4:10 8

  11. Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another: be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. I Peter 3:8 9

  12. Humble yourselves, therefore under God’s mighty hand , that he may lift you up in due time. I Peter 5 & 6 9

  15. Questions…? • What gifts have you offered to God? • Where in your life are you completely obedient? • What are of obedience do you need to work on? 14

  16. ...leave your gift in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift. Matthew 5:24b 15

  17. Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. Romans 6:13 15

  18. Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God…this is your spiritual act of worship. Romans 12:1 16

  19. Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise…the fruit of lips that confess his name. And do not forget to do good and share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. Hebrews 13:15 16

  20. But Samuel replied: “Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than fat of rams.” 1 Samuel 15:22 19

  21. In everything that he undertook the service of God’s temple and in obedience to the law and commands, he sought his God and worked wholeheartedly. And so he prospered. 2 Chronicles 31:21 19

  22. Jesus replied, “If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him”. John 14:23 20

  23. “Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.” Hebrews 5:8-9 20

  24. Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you. Hebrews 13:17 21

  25. And this love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that walk in love. 2 John 1:6 21

  28. Questions…? • Do you have a consistent prayer time daily? • When do you find yourself in prayer? • Why is prayer important? 26

  29. Moses replied, “When I have gone out of the city, I will spread out my hands in prayer to the Lord. The thunder will stop and there will be no more hail, so you may know that the earth is the Lord’s. Exodus 9:29 27

  30. The priests and the Levites stood to bless the people, and God heard them, for their prayer reached heaven, his holy dwelling place. 2 Chronicles 30:27 27

  31. …yet my hands have been free of violence and my prayer is pure. Job 16:17 28

  32. A prayer of an afflicted man. Psalm 102 28

  33. “My prayer is not that you take them out of the world, but that you protect them from the evil one.” John 17:14 29

  34. His father was sick in bed, suffering from fever and dysentery. Paul went in to see him and after prayer, placed his hands on him and healed him. Acts 28:8 29

  35. And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ. Philippians 1: 9-10 30

  36. Devote yourself to prayer, being watchful and thankful. Colossians 4:2 30

  39. Questions…? • What external things hinder your eternal walk? • Why is it so hard to focus on eternal living? • What are you doing to daily to seek those things that are eternal? 35

  40. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise. Psalm 111:10 36

  41. Now a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?” “Why do you ask me about what is good?” “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments.” Matthew 19:16 36

  42. Even now the reaper draws his wages, even now he harvests the crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together. John 4:36 37

  43. Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval. John 6:27 37

  44. The man who loves his life will lose it. While the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. John 12:25 37

  45. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable…if anything is excellent or praiseworthy…think about such things. Philippians 4:8 38

  46. May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Hebrews 13:20,21 38
