  7. Hoover Music DepartmentCMEA Festival Awards Choir received a rating of GOOD! The Majority of our students are 1st year choir! This is a great accomplishment! Advanced Band received a rating of SUPERIOR Intermediate Band received a rating of EXCELLENT. Orchestra received a rating of EXCELLENT.

Hoover Track and Field! • At the Escondido Invitational, featuring most of the counties best athletes… • Senior MulugetaEngdawplaced 10th in the 3200m, his time of 9:36 ranks him 16th among all grade levels, all divisions, in the entire San Diego Section. He is 3rd in the City of San Diego. • Junior Esther Nofodjiplaced 7th in the discus, her mark of 113'8'' ranks her 14th among all grade levels, all divisions, in the entire San Diego Section.

  14. Hoover Track and Field! Freshmen Demontez Grey place 8th overall in the 100m dash, his time of 11.59 ranks him 15th among all freshmen boys, all divisions, in the entire San Diego Section. Freshmen SamaelTeklayovercame a fall in the 3200m to place 7th, his time of 10:21 ranks him 11th among all freshmen boys, all divisions, in the entire San Diego Section. SophmoreAwalHussenplaced 7th in the 1600m, his time of 4:34 ranks him 14th among all sophomore boys, all divisions, in the entire San Diego Section.

  16. 2014 Larry Hall ALMA Scholarship  • $750 - $1500 University/Community College Scholarship • Applicant Eligibility Requirements: • Admission to university or community college • Full time student (12 units) in the fall of 2014 • Demonstrate financial need • Funding received from this scholarship will go directly to your college/university to cover the costs of tuition, books, or room and board.
