  3. Catch their eyes with… Spirit Moderation is key. BEE spirited but do not scare them. Inclusiveness Do not exclude any persons when presenting information. Information Capture their interests and share your own Ambitious? Leadership!

  6. Step Two: Keeping Them • Time for recognition! • Awards • Most ______ • Outstanding Member • Member of the Month • Recognize a member at meetings • Templates for awards are available on the Cyber Key • Recognize the advisors as well!

  7. Motivate the members through incentives These can be bigger than candy Create social gatherings for members to familiarize themselves with other members Water balloon fights Pie-ing! Food Any type of bonding activity

  8. Stay in contact with the members If members do not know the happenings within the club, how will the club function? Remind them their successes rather than their downfalls Have something new every month Break away from traditions Don’t be afraid of new things

  9. Urge members (active or inactive) to renew their membership every year Have members BEE-lieve that membership is important Most of all, tell them THANK YOU. Email Handwritten letters Awards

  10. Dues and Membership • Now that you have them interested, encourage them to become an official member. • To BEE an official member = They have to pay dues • Explain what dues go towards! • Be ready for questions!

Important Dates • September 30th • If your club is suspended make sure to pay your last years • dues by this time. • October 1st • First Payment Date • November 1st • Early Bird Dues • December 1st • Make sure dues are sent in by this time • or your club will be considered delinquent. • February 1st • Dues Recognition

Quick Tips for Dues • In August or September, club advisors receive a involve and membership invoice. • This form comes with directions and should be used when submitting dues. • Log onto www.keyclub.org • Go to ”dues and reports” the click on “membership center, this will take you to the login page. • Use the key club number as well as the unique password to sign in. • After signed in, edit information as well as fill in new information. • Once this has been updated and dues have been collected, print out a copy, and send them both to • 3636 Woodview Trace • Indianapolis IN, 46268
