  2. The Five Pillars Shahdah Salat Zakah Hajj Sawm

  3. Shahadah - Faith Shahadah is the declaration of faith. Translated into English it means ‘There is no other God but Allah, and Muhammad* is the prophet of Allah.’ It is the first thing that is said into a baby’s ear.

  4. Salat - Prayer Salat means prayer five times a day. When it is time for prayer Muslims stop whatever they are doing and face in the direction of Mecca.

  5. Hajj - Pilgrimage Hajj is pilgrimage to Mecca. Every Muslim who can afford it is expected to visit Mecca at least once during his life. For Muslims Mecca is the most holy place because it is where Muhammad* lived and worked. www.religiousstudies.co.uk/hajj/hajj.htm
