Nonprofit Mailing Privileges • Available to authorized eligible organizations • Discounted Standard Mail • Domestic Mail Manual (DMM) 703.1 • Publication 417 – Nonprofit Standard Mail Eligibility • Tax exempt does not mean USPS authorized • Requires valid Standard Mail Permit in each mailing location

  4. Eligible Organizations • DMM Section 703.1.2 • Religious • Educational • Scientific • Philanthropic • Agricultural • Labor • Veteran’s • Fraternal • Qualified Political Committee • Voter Registration Official

Applying through PostalOne! • New Nonprofit system September 2008 • One National Authorization Number valid at any USPS mailing location • No need for Additional Entry Authorization number (formerly requested with PS Form 3623) • No need to apply in person, but you still can • Online forms available to organizations • PS Form 3624 - Application • PS Form 3623 - Confirmation • PS Form 6015 - Change to information

Applying through PostalOne! • Electronic filing speeds up approval process • Electronic or hard copy documentation • Access through Business Customer Gateway • Must have a valid account, or sign up for one • Contact local Manager, Business Mail Entry office for assistance PostalOne!   8. Select Postal Wizard

  9. Select Online Customer Service Form

  10. Enter ZIP Code where you would like to mail

  11. If it is not a Postmaster Office, you will need to access the BME locator for the correct ZIP Code

  12. Complete the online application

  13. Type of Organization • See DMM 703.1 for eligible organizations and examples of those that are not eligible

Supporting Documentation • Must provide supporting documentation • Evidence of nonprofit status • IRS letter, Financial Audit • Description of nonprofit organization’s purpose • Articles of incorporation, Charter, etc. • Evidence of operation – two types • Bulletins, meeting minutes, brochures, etc. • Hard copy or electronic submission • PDF, DOC, XLS, RTF, MAX, JPG, etc. • Max size 5 MB

  16. Certification • Must be a responsible official of organization

  18. Confirmation of application • Provides application number/becomes authorization • Address to mail hard copy supporting documentation • e-mail confirmation of submission to PCSC

  21. Select an Application/Authorization Number Enter the ZIP Code of the post office or business mail entry unit at which you wish to apply to mail Confirmation of authorization - Form 3623

  22. Confirmation of authorization to mail • If location is a PostalOne! site, no further action is needed • If location is NOT a PostalOne! • Indicate mailing date • Check information and certify • Confirmation letter is sent to local office • e-mail confirmation to organization

  25. Name changes require supporting documentation

  26. Upload electronic evidence of name change Request is submitted to PCSC
