On October 24, 2011, in Gallagher Estate, Midrand, the South African Centre for Carbon Capture and Storage (SACCCS) held a critical demonstration on CO2 storage. This event gathered key participants to discuss the South African CCS Roadmap and its commercial potential. The demonstration tested the capacity for CO2 storage, ranging from 10,000t to 1,000,000t. Objectives included showcasing storage effectiveness under South African conditions and enhancing national capabilities in CO2 management. Insights from this initiative aim to engage and educate stakeholders on CCS developments in South Africa.
