  4. LessonOutline • The lesson plans are based on the story Eloise Greenfield. • First lesson is based on reading and comprehending the story. Then begin comprehension questions on section 1 of their work books. • Second, students will reread the book and answer comprehension questions and section 2, this time consulting with their group. • Third, teacher initiates trivia day. Using the same questions they have been working on. • Fourth, students will take a story test, scoring their level of comprehension.

  5. Lesson Review • Beginning the story Eloise Greenfield went well. • Students didn’t like the fact that it was a memoir. • Students got interested after they started reading. • While students were answering questions they were restless. • Trivia game goes well with all students participating.

  6. Pre-Assessment Was based on comprehension over the questions in the student booklets. Students were give specific questions from the booklet, that they would be able to answer through prior knowledge. Post-Assessment Students should have already read Eloise Greenfield, and is understood. Students then answer the same questions as pre-assessment plus additional question. Trying to see if low scores are based on comprehending story or questions. Assessment

  7. Assessment Review • Based on assessments, low grades were not based on comprehending questions. • Students were just not reading the text to comprehend. • They were reading to get an assignment over with, even after explaining the purpose of the assessments.
