  2. Consolidated Annual Report (CAR) • For 2009-10, due December 31, 2010 • Either CAR or EDFacts, not both • “ED will allow SEAs on a data group-by-data group basis {indicator-by-indicator} to request exemptions from submitting data as proposed in this package for SY 2009-10.” • SY 2009-10 CTE file specifications will be posted on ED web site by October 1 at http://www2.ed.gov/about/inits/ed/edfacts/sy-09-10-nonxml.html • For 2010-11, due December 31, 2011 • All secondary CTE data submitted through EDFacts

  3. Worksheet • We has sent the EDFacts coordinators have received copies of the EDFacts-CTE worksheet which should assist your state in determining how to submit data for 2009-10. • The worksheet is also posted on PCRN web site at: http://cte.ed.gov

  4. Deciding how to report for 2009-10

  5. EDFacts Submission Plan • In the EDFacts Submission Plan, the SEA count is hardwired to “1.” • If you are not submitting through EDFacts, note in the comment field “exemption.” • If you are submitting through EDFacts: • When data are from a program year prior to 2009-10, indicate “0” for the LEA count. • When data are from program year 2009-10, indicate the # of LEAs

  6. Step 1 – Definitions that apply to all indicators

  7. Step 2 – Submitting data for Tech-Prep

  8. Tech-Prep • If no, do not include category set I “Tech-Prep” in the EDFacts file. • If yes, then these data should be submitted through EDFacts as category set I “Tech-Prep.” • Don’t forget that there are additional data about Tech-Prep that must be submitted through the CAR.

  9. Step 3 – How data are submitted for disability status

  10. Disability Status Be sure to use the correct permitted value: WDIS – when the data are based on IDEA ADA – when the data are based on ADA

  11. Step 4 – Definition of a specific indicator

  12. Step 4– State definition of indictor • For indicator 3S1 Secondary School Completion • Numerator = N/X083 • Denominator = N/X082 • For indicator 2S1 Technical Skill Attainment • Numerator = “Passed” • Denominator = “Passed” plus “Not passed”

  13. Step 5 – Time period of the data for a specific indicator

  14. Step 5 – State negotiated time period of data In the explanation field, put the time period if it is not the “standard” period of time: If it is a different period of months: • 8/1/09 to 7/31/10 If it is a different year: • 7/1/08 to 6/30/09 Could be both different months and year: • 5/1/08 to 4/30/09

  15. Step 2b – State negotiated time period of data If the time period is not compatible with the directory for SY 2009-10, leave out the LEA level data. In the submission plan, LEAs = 0

  16. Step 6 – Verifying that quality data are available to submit electronically?

  17. Step 7 – Other aggregations of the data

  18. Submitting to EDFacts for 2009-10 • We are building CTE pre-fill reports which will allow the CTE coordinators to see what the CTE data submitted via EDFacts look like in the CAR reporting format --- similar to the Excel spreadsheets that can be uploaded to the CAR • These reports should be available at the beginning of November • Your EDFacts coordinator can provide these once your state has submitted the data to EDFacts.
