  24. Common Questions • Full program available online? • No, not yet • The experience of working with your peers at Stanford and building a global network is an important part of the program • Can I apply with a non-engineering undergraduate degree? • Yes, but you will need to complete the required prerequisites before coming to Stanford or while you are at Stanford • How important is work experience? • Work experience is important for graduate school • It’s an important criterion for admission

  25. Common Questions • What is the minimum TOEFL score? • 89 for internet-based TOEFL or 575 for the paper-based TOEFL for MS • 100 or 600 for Ph.D. • What is the minimum GRE score? What is the minimum GPA or percentile? • There is no minimum GRE score or GPA or percentile, but, of course the higher the score the better • We look at all aspects of the application together, i.e., your statement of purpose, GPA, GRE, recommendations, work experience and other aspects of the CV like service, and TOEFL if applicable • A high score is important for consideration for financial aid

  26. Common Questions • What if I want to switch my track? • Easy • What financial aid is available? • Fellowships • Research Assistantships • Teaching Assistantships • Highly qualified applicants can be considered for financial aid • Once I am enrolled as a MS student how can I apply for a more advanced degree (Engineer, Ph.D.) • Admission to a post-MS degree requires a significant research efforts, so you will need to find a research advisor • Once you have an advisor and your progress and performance are satisfactory, switching to an advanced degree is easy administratively
