PHOBOS Review: Investigation of Phi Physics Rates and Resolution

In this review by Mark D. Baker, the Phi particle rates and resolution in PHOBOS experiment are explored. Assumptions include 15% central cut and 100 Hz central events, yielding 9x10 total Phi particles per nominal week. The resolution of Phi invariant mass is discussed, dominated by momentum resolution and calculated through fast simulation and analytic error propagation. Error values are provided for different PID methods.
