  1. US Air Salvage-Miracle on the Hudson -photos Some interesting pictures of the Heavy Lift operation by Weeks Marine. Thought you might find these interesting. This from a friend who got the pics from the crane operator. These photos were taken by the crane operator lifting the Airbus out of the Hudson River . He's a friend of my buddy Tommy , a fellow member of the CG Aux. .. They lifted the airliner out of the Hudson yesterday... It's now being looked at right here in the port of Jersey City ... bb Music Albert Hammond Read the first page Click and then watch the rest Set to Powerpoint by Frank Vader

  2. Notice the Ice in the water. Submerged weight 39 500 kg + weight of the water? Weight above water approx 39.500 kg. Look at the size of those strops.

  3. Note that only one engine was sheered off, not both... And considering that landing in water is like landing on concrete, not a whole lotta damage to the Airbus fuselage... Musta been one great spash landing.

  4. Can we ever imagine how lucky those people were that it happened so close to the city and more so there was a seat of the pants Pilot onboard. The End The lifting took less then 8 hours
