  1. 5 Steps to Find The Best Floor Tiles • Choosing the proper floor tiles requires a great deal of thought. It's not simple to find the ideal tiles! Tiling a room is a significant investment, and you may be stuck with your tile selection for a long time. This is not a decision that should be taken lightly. • What do you need to know in order to prevent making costly errors? Well, when it comes to designing home remodel, meticulous preparation and study are always essential. However, with so many tile designs and patterns available, it might be difficult to know where to begin! In this post, we'll walk you through our simple 5-step process for choosing the ideal floor tiles for your house.

  3. Figure Out the Suitable Tile • Here's a rundown of the top tiles: • Ceramic tiles are the most popular and cost-effective option. Ceramic tiles, on the other hand, have a significant disadvantage in that they are prone to chipping and breaking. Limiting the use of ceramic tiles to places with mild to medium traffic is a smart idea. • Porcelain tiles are ceramic tiles' younger and more popular relatives. They're thick, long-lasting, and powerful. They're also stain & water-resistant, making them ideal for wet places such as the kitchen, bathroom, and outside walkways. •  Vitrified tiles are stain and scratch-resistant, as well as exceptionally long-lasting. They come in a range of shapes and sizes, including double-charged vitrified tiles, full-body vitrified tiles, soluble-salt vitrified tiles, and others. • Other natural materials, such as limestone, granite, marble, sandstone, and travertine, are also available as slabs and tiles for flooring. •  Cement tiles are ideal for use in commercial settings. The difficulty with cement tiles is that they are porous and must be sealed on a regular basis.

  4. Decide on Tile Size • Then there's the issue of size to consider. The size of the tiles you choose is mostly determined by the effect you want them to have in your space. • Larger tiles are ideal if you want to make a room appear larger. If you're tiling a surface that isn't completely straight, little mosaic designs are great (like my tile risers). Rectangle tiles, when set across the narrowest area of the room, can help to make a small space feel larger. In a modern home, square tiles are ideal, but if you live in a historic property with crooked walls, you may want to choose an irregularly shaped tile.

  5. Select the Right Tile Finish • There are two types of tile finishes:  • Tiles with a glossy finish  • Tiles with a matte finish  • Matte-finished tiles are an excellent choice for an anti-slip surface. For best safety, look for tiles with a COF (Coefficient of Friction) of greater than 0.6. You may choose from a variety of finishes, including semi-matte, in addition to glossy and matte tiles. They have a greater sheen than typical matte tiles but are still non-slip.  • Also Read: The pros & cons of Matt tiles & Gloss tiles.

  6. Choose the Right Colour Tile • The colour of your tiles will have a significant influence on the overall appearance of your space. But how do you pick the right colours? Here are a few simple pointers: • All-white tiles may appear bright and airy, which is ideal for making a small space appear larger. However, they might be difficult to keep clean. • Dark grey or black tiles will give your room a dramatic feel. They are ideal for active households because they conceal dirt, but they may make a small space feel dark. • Naturals are a safe pick if the area you're dealing with has a laidback vibe. The use of cream, beige, and natural stone tiles will create a soothing atmosphere. Warmer colours, such as terracotta, will give the room a Mediterranean feel.

  7. Calculate the Number of Tile Required • After that, figure out how many tiles you'll need for your flooring. This is something that your architect or construction engineer can assist you with. Make careful to account for 10% waste when estimating the number of tiles needed. Calculate the cost of the tile you want to use and see whether it fits within your budget. If that's the case, you're good to go. If it exceeds your budget, you can replace it with a tile that is comparable but less expensive. • Related: HOW DO YOU CALCULATE THE NUMBER OF FLOOR TILES REQUIRED?
