CLASS GOALS • Learn skills necessary to perform a variety of physical activities • Be physically fit • Participate regularly in physical activity • Develop and enhance their social skills, confidence and self-esteem • Know the benefits from involvement in physical activity • Value physical activity and its contribution to a healthy lifestyle **** BECOME A PHYSICALLY LITERATE INDIVIDUAL****

  6. GRADING 20% - Effort 20% - Cooperation/Sportsmanship 20% - Rules/Safety 20% - Prepared for class 20% - Homework (written assignments)

  7. MEDICALS AND INJURIES • Injuries must be reported during class to the Physical Education teacher. • Medical excuses must be from a Physician. • Students must bring their medical excuses to the school nurse. • Students that are medically excused and are permitted to stay in the gym can assist with the class. • Students that are not permitted to be in the gym will have a short written assignment.

NOTEBOOK/FOLDER HOMEWORK EDMODO ONLINE STUDENT LEARNING OBJECTIVE- This is the mile run component of the NYS Physical Fitness test and is an educational tool that helps students learn as part of a high quality, standards based physical education curriculum. Emphasis is placed on how it feels to become more physically fit and how to value a physically active lifestyle. ONE-MILE RUN/WALK PRE-TEST AND POST-TEST
