Intention of this session • To encourage you to mark the 400th anniversary of the King James Version with children • To give you useful ideas and resources for teaching about the Bible in school • To encourage you to consider further ways of embedding the relevance of the Bible in the life of your school • To share good practice – as a Diocese we will disseminate this through our website and Schools’ Mailing

How has the Bible impacted people’s lives? • All are equal, God cares for children, everyone needs a fair deal, we have responsibility for our world; rulers should make sure everyone has a fair say • Abolition of slavery – The Clapham Sect and Sierra Leone • Fair trade – Quakers The Sugar Boycott • Drop the Debt - Jubilee 2000 campaign • Environmental concerns • Challenging corrupt rulers – Charles 1st and civil war
