  3. Holy, Holy, Holy. A passage from the Gospel according to Saint Luke (4:38-41), may his blessings be upon us all. Amen. • Jesus left the synagogue and went to the home of Simon. Now Simon's mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Jesus to help her. So He bent over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up at once and began to wait on them. When the sun was setting, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying His hands on each one, He healed them. Moreover, demons came out of many people, shouting, ‘‘You are the Son of God!'' But He rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew He was the Christ. • Glory Be To God Forever, Amen

Eshlil • Where: Before every liturgical prayer (thanksgiving, sick, travelers, departed, oblations, gospel, reconciliation, 3 long prayers, 5 short prayers) • Meaning: Let us pray • Why: Pray as a congregation for a specific purpose. • Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. - Matthew 18:19

  10. Fear of God • Where: • The Gospel • Before Communion (2) • Meaning: Reverence and respect, as for a President or King. Acknowledgment and respect for someone greater than ourselves • Why: Acknowleding the peak of the Liturgy of Word, and the peak of the Liturgy of the Believers

Greet on another with a holy kiss • Where: Beginning of the Liturgy of the Believers (Prayer of Reconciliation), before the anaphora • Meaning: Be at peace with each other in order to approach God in unity. • If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. - Romans 12:18 • Why: • Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. • 1 John 4:20

Meet and right • Where: The Anaphora • Meaning: Worthy and Just, it is right, proper, fitting • Why: We start the anaphora (going up into heaven) fittingly with praise • Proper and right, proper and right, proper and right. TRULY, it is appropriate and right that we praise you; bless You, serve You, worship you, and glorify You; O the only and true God, the lover of mankind; - Liturgy of St Gregory

  15. Alleluia • Where: Many Places after a statement of Joy • Meaning: Praise! Sing! Be Joyful! • Why: The congregation is expressing joy, especially during communion.

  16. E-parthenos Today, the virgin bears Him who is transcendent, and the earth presents the cave to Him who is beyond reach. Angels, along with shepherds glorify Him. The Magi make their way to Him by a star. For a new child has been born for us, the God before all ages.
