Fundraising • Many Chapters have not been following the Constitution and Bylaws in reference to submitting fundraising forms to the Department. • Only 8 forms have been submitted since the 2013 Convention. • (reference: DAV C&B Article 15, section 15.3) • The updated forms are available on the Department website or from the Senior Vice Commander, who is the approval authority in the Department of Virginia. • Department of Virginia C&B, Section 2.2, Para 2.1: • “ The Senior Vice Commander, in addition to other prescribed duties, • is responsible for monitoring and coordinating fund raising activities”

  3. Fundraising • The Department Fundraising Form is available on the Department Website or from the Department Senior Vice Commander. (old versions of the form are not longer acceptable) • If the Fundraising is being conducted by an auxiliary unit (DAVA, Juniors, etc.) a cover letter/e-mail from the DAV Chapter must accompany the request. • If the fundraising is being conducted by multiple Chapters - or - in the area of another Chapter, the other Chapter must agree, with written agreement submitted with the form. • Return a signed copy to the Department Senior Vice via e-mail for fastest service. If it is mailed to the Department Office, it must be re-sent via USPS to the Senior Vice. Department of Virginia

  4. Fundraising Use of funds from approved activities IMPORTANT NEC Regulation 5: Income from Fund-Raising (a) Forget-Me-Nots. Income from Forget- Me-Not drives shall be used solely for service to disabled veterans, their dependents and survivors and for no other purpose. (b) Other Fundraising. Income from approved Department or Chapter fund-raising activities shall be used to support programs and activities sponsored by DAV, its subordinate units or other entities, as long as such programs and activities provide a direct and substantial benefit to disabled veterans, their dependents and survivors.
