  3. The goals of the Canada Volunteerism Initiative are: • to encourage Canadians to volunteer • to improve the capacity of organizations to involve volunteers • to enhance the experience of volunteering

  4. Cornerstones of Community In British Columbia… • 12.6% of the organizations in Canada (20,270) • 56% are registered charities • 7.8% of volunteers (1.5 million positions) • 4.9% of the total volunteer hours • 7.3% of the paid staff (147,342) • 9.8% of the revenue ($10,925 million)
