Health Career Presentations • K-5 – keep it simple but interesting! • 6-8 – keep it simple, interesting, & real! • 8th grade – see your counselor to prepare for 9th grade! • 9- 12 – punch it up a little more, it’s time to really get serious about what college, what major, what to do each year – keep it interesting & real!

Don’t Forget to tell them….. • ..about career ladders such as nursing. • ..about average salary expectations. • ..about health profession shortage areas. • ..to continue to improve their GPA. • ..to job shadow, must be 16 or older. • ..there are over 300 health career professions! • ..not everyone is suited for a health career profession. • ..to seek a career that fuels their passion. • ..the only reason they can’t pursue their passion is because they haven’t tried!

  15. Enthusiasm goes a long way! • Bring out your inner “drama queen” • In-class presentations • Don’t use monotones, vary your volume • Use interesting PowerPoint slides • Use real pictures

  18. Most importantly…… • ..health career presentations should be interesting. • ..camps should be fun! • ..include science & math lessons. • ..plan hands-on activities – the grosser the better! • ..always remember… Learning should be FUN and the health career future is bright!
