  1. Detector upgrade status Zoltán Fodor Wigner Research Centre for Physics, Hungarian Academy of Sciences

  2. TPC Low voltage: cable ends are repaired, test in summer time Drift velocity monitor: New drift tube for measurement prepared New readout electronic prepared Integration to DCS on going Trigger phase measurement going to repair

  3. ToF HV upgrade: New distributors are ready and partly installed, finishing and comissioning Aug. 2014. Integration to DCS in autumn Changing broken tubes on summer times Replace with spare prepared Later replacement with Hamamatsu PMs from BudaToF Readout upgrade DRS4 readout selected but have to demonstrate the capabilities mainly the needed time resolution Preparation delayed, planed after HI run 2015, manpower needed Laser system for checking

  4. PSD • New temperature stabilization prepared • Cooling part with Peltier element constructed and installed on the central modules • Integration on DCS going to worked out in this time • Commissioning in September • Readout • In this year with old fashion but using new amplifier providing a fast signal for triggering

  5. Magnet • VTX1 cryo system opened, found damage inside the pumps  lower cooling power • Started VTX2 maintenance also • CRIO group declared the readiness for end of September • To be checked 22 and 29 October during the MDs

  6. Target • Pb for the p+Pb measurements, old one • Ar beam: • Sc, solid target, questions: purity, with heavy elements • Pressurized Ar, • Long ~50 cm, what is the effect for the acceptance • Purity less then Sc, but they are closed isotops

  7. Beam line • Two different beam line for p and HI beam • For HI we are trying to put as much element in vacuum as possible • No change for p beam compare to 2012 pPb runs

  8. DAQ • Preparation for 64bit software done by Andras • Modification is needed for calibration triggering to adopt the different calibration signals for different subsystems • In software • In hardware as well • Further change is needed if we want to extend the readout with DDL connections • Anyhow we have to think the replacement of DAQ computers, they are 6 years old, very probably together with the new TOF DRS based readout

  9. New radiation protection

  10. Modification of the area

  11. New safety regulations • Helmets needed in the area /in the green zone/, could be stored in the control room • Safety shoes needed to work on the zone beyond the green zone, practically in the area in our case • Green zone means the zone when you passed the green line coming to 867 building. Practically the control rooms and counting houses are out.

  12. New installations • VD • Discussion on going with ALICE group to contruct the holder of the chips with cooling on the carbon structure • Test could be on the installation time before Ar runs /if we are using solid targerts/ • Forward TPC • Father justification is needed, the construction would be governed by Eric Z. with the collaboration of Budapest group • Beam counters • Thinner S1 • Replacement of BPDs
