  2. Introduction • The scientific name for Gorillas is Gorilla, Gorilla, Gorilla!!! • Gorillas live for 40 years in captivity • There are many different kinds of gorillas, such as Mountain Gorillas, Forest Gorillas and Jungle Gorillas • Gorillas are the largest of the ape family

All About How Gorillas Look • Black hair like human hair • They have dark skin and small dark brown eyes as small as an ant • Males can be 6 feet tall and can weigh between 400-450 pounds • Females are shorter and weigh about 175 pounds • The stomachs are bigger than their chests • They have two long arms which are longer than their legs to swing tree to tree • They have two legs that always seem to be bent at the knees

  4. More About How Gorillas Look • There chest is very thick and strong. • Gorillas are much larger than chimpanzees, but have smaller ears • Gorillas have hands and feet like humans

How Gorillas Act • Gorillas live in troops of one or more males, females, and babies • They walk on all fours using their knuckles on the ground • They don’t usually climb trees • They give nose to nose greetings • Gorillas also touch and hug one another • They show their teeth when they are mad • Gorillas do not share food

  14. Physiological Adaptations • Gorillas have a big stomach to digest there 66 pounds of food • Gorillas have huge muscles to shred a big banana tree so they have food to eat • Gorillas have thick bones because they are big
