How to access the Configuration Pages (Web GUI) of my modem router • Please note: Accessing your modem’s configuration page does not require Internet connection as these pages are stored inside your modem. Your computer just needs to be connected to the modem. - Open your Internet browser e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, etc. and enter the IP address of your D-Link modem in the address bar: http://192.168.1.1. - When prompted type in the Username and Password then click on the “Log In” button. If you have not changed the password for the modem administration, the factory settings are: Username: admin Password: admin

  3. - You should now be presented with the modem’s configuration pages (Web-based Configuration):

  4. How to change Wireless Channel in your modem/router Step 1. Open your Internet Browser and in the address field type in http://192.168.1.1. Step 2. When prompted type in the Username and Password then click on the “Log In” button. If you have not changed the password for the modem administration, the factory settings are: Username: admin Password: admin

  5. Step 3. After logging in you will be presented with the modem’s configuration pages. Please click on Setup > Wireless Setup > Manual Wireless Connection Setup button:

  6. Step 4. In the first section of the page [WIRELESS NETWORK SETTINGS], please un-check the “Auto Channel Scan” option. Then under “Wireless Channel” click on the drop down menu to select a channel number between 1 to 13.

  7. PLEASE MAKE SURE CLICK ON [Apply Settings] BUTTON AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE TO SAVE THE SETTINGS.

  32. How to open ports in your modem router firewall • Please note: It is recommended to set the device you are opening ports for (PC, Xbox, PlayStation, etc.) with a static IP address. Please see your device instructions on how to manually set an IP address. Step 1. When prompted type in the Username and Password and then click on the “Log In” button. Fill in the fields for a “Virtual Servers List Entry” (we are opening ports for Remote Desktop service as an example) - Service Ports: enter the port you want to open - Server IP: type in the IP address of the device you are opening ports for (PC, Xbox, PlayStation, etc.) - Server Port: same as Service Port - Protocol: select “BOTH” if not sure - Check the “Enable” box Step 4. After adding all the required rules click on the [Apply Settings] button at the bottom of the page.

How to Refresh/Remove a Wireless Profile on your computer • When you connect to a wireless network, the settings and profile of that specific network is saved on your computer so that you don’t have to re-enter your Wi-Fi password every time you reconnect. Once your computer is in the range of the saved wireless network, it will automatically attempt to connect to that wireless network. • If you have connected to various wireless networks before, your computer may have problems connecting wirelessly, especially when the wireless networks use the same names (SSID). Removing wireless network profiles on your computer may improve your wireless connectivity to your current wireless network. • Please NOTE: Removing Wi-Fi network profiles cannot be undone. Make sure you know the wireless settings of your wireless network (your network name and Wi-Fi password) to be able to reconnect to it.

  39. How to refresh a Wireless Profile in Windows 7 Step 1. Click on the Windows 7 Start button: Step 2. Select Control Panel. Step 3. Make sure your View by: is set to “Category”, and then click on Network and Internet:

  41. Step 6. Select the network profile you wish to remove, make sure it is highlighted then click Remove. You can also right click on the network profile and click on Remove network Now connect to the required Wireless Network manually and a fresh automatic profile will be created for this network.

  42. How to refresh a Wireless Profile in Windows 8 Step 1. Left click on the Windows 8 network status icon : The icon is located at the right hand bottom corner of the screen Step 2. Highlight the wireless network that you wish to remove.

  43. Step 3. Right-click the network in the network list and click Forget this network. Now connect to the required Wireless Network manually and a fresh automatic profile will be created for this network.

  44. How to refresh a Wireless Profile in OS X Step 1. Click on the Apple menu and select System Preferences Step 2. In the System Preferences menu, click on Network.
