Follow an Athenian citizen's life in 5th century B.C.E., from his privileged upbringing and downfall to his military service in the Peloponnesian War, culminating in his tragic end during the Athenian plague.

Early years:Birth-15 • He attends the local school • He spends some time meeting the great figures through his fathers connections, Socrates and other greats • Performs best in athletics
Coming of age: 16-25 • At 16, our characters father is ostracized for being to powerful. The year is 440
Coming of age: 16-25 • This causes our character, who was headed for great things to lose respect • As the city become hostile to him and his fathers legacy, he is looking for options to recognition • Out of desperation he joins the military
He is stationed at Megara, a Delian League port in the south • His is one of the first posts hit by early conflict in the Peloponnesian War
Most of the rest of the film follows his adventures through the War • He ends in Athens where he dies of the plague
