  2. Overview • Centralised ILL model based at biggest LRC • ILLs team within Customer Services • All ILLs received at biggest LRC and delivered by van to other three LRCs

  3. Overview • No charge to end users for ILL requests • FileOpen for Secure Electronic Delivery direct to the end-user • Switched from Talis to Aleph in July 2011

  4. Challenges • Coping without an operational system in interim • Expecting things to work instantly • Waiting for a response from library systems team & Ex-Libris • Persuading senior management to agree to e-signatures

  5. Challenges • Training new staff around annual leave • Rewriting our procedures • Rethinking our charging procedures • Getting the configuration right

  6. Successes • Streamlined processes • Primo request form • More time for UK/Worldwide location searches • Significant savings • Ex-Libris’ second visit in September

  7. What’s next? • Reports • SEDs direct to patron from BL • SFX • ISO protocol
