Dat die konsep-koshuisplasingsbeleid, soosdit op die Universiteit Stellenbosch (US) se webtuisteverskyn, nie as amptelikebeleiddeur die US aanvaarmoet word nie, omrede die konsepbeleid - • vaag is en ontbreekaanbetekenisvolleinhoud; • in die algemeenswakgeformuleer en uiteengesit is; • allebetekenisvollebeleidsbevoegdhederakendekoshuisplasingsaanuniversiteits-bestuuroordra; • indruis teen die US se verbintenis tot nie-rassigheid; en • 'n ondeursigtige en onverantwoordbarekoshuisplasingsproses tot gevolgsal he; • En dat die US deurmiddel van 'n inklusiewe proses 'n alternatiewebeleidmoetformuleerwateerstensversekerdatkoshuisplasings op 'n regverdige, deursigtige en nie-rassigewysegeskied, terwylanderbeleidsoogmerkewat in die proses navore mag kom, soosstudentesukses en 'n diverse leefwêreld, onderhewiggestel word aanhierdiebeginsels.

  2. That the draft residence placement policy, as it appears on the website of Stellenbosch University (SU), must not be adopted as official policy by SU, because the policy – • is vague and lacks meaningful content; • is poorly formulated and structured in general; • transfers all meaningful policy powers regarding resident placement to university management; • violates SU’s commitment to non-racialism; and • will result in a resident placement process that is neither transparent nor accountable; • And that SU should, by means of an inclusive process, formulate an alternative policy which ensures firstly that resident placements are made in a fair, transparent and non-racial manner, while other policy goals which may come to the fore during the process, such as student success and a diverse living environment, are subject to these principles.

NONRACIALISM ... The University does not discriminate on the basis of race, nationality or ethnic heritage in exercising its educational policy, its bursary and loan programmes, or its sport programmes.
