This study explores the comparative effects of U(VI) and ferric hydroxide/citrate on various strains, including wild type and mutants (OmcC, OmcB, PpcA, PpcD, PpcE, MacA). We measured the rates of uranium (IV) and iron (II) production in terms of micromoles per milligram of protein per minute. The findings provide insights into the bioavailability and bioremediation potential of uranium and iron in microbial systems, highlighting the metabolic differences among the strains studied.
