With numerous designs to choose from, this guide aims to help you go through the best options for your living space. HAMMOCK SETUP Before you purchase your first hammock you need to consider the space where you would like to hang your hammock. Measure for the length between where your anchors will be and subtract at least 3 ft. on each end for the anchor (total of 6 ft.). The remaining value will be the maximum length for your hammock. Once you have your new hammock and it’s ready to be installed, spread it on the ground below your chosen space and decide the height to hang it at. NOTE: There should be at least 2 ft. distance from the ground to the bottom of your hammock. From here you can then decide the height for your anchors. Anchors Whether it’s a rope around a tree or a metal hook embedded on a wall or a post, your anchor must be as strong as possible. Ideal weight capacity should support at least 2 people or 300 lbs. Suspension Expect your hammock to sag as it carries the users weight over time. Not to mention it’s exposure to the elements can also cause it to sag. It is recommended that your suspension be adjustable, and you can easily achieve this with carabiners attached to the anchoring hardware over a series of knots.
