  3. Weight vs. Mass At a boxing match, the two opponents wait in opposing corners. As they stare at each other, the ring announcer proclaims that challenger weighs in at 105 kg. He claims the champion weighs in at 110 kg. Why is the announcer wrong? Explain. If this boxing match took place on the moon, how would the mass and weight of each man change?

  5. Mechanical Advantage a) Complete the chart to explain the way that this particular machine works. b) If the in Input Force is 12 N and the Output Force is 108 N what is the mechanical advantage?

  6. Designing with Simple Machines This is a replica of the famous Temple of Artimis which was built in 550 BC, way before the invention of any modern machinery. Using your knowledge of the six simple machines, explain how the temple might have been built.

  7. The Value of Systems Weight the advantages and disadvantages of this system. Is it a valuable system in our society?
