Google Calendars:Create a new calendar • Go to https://www.google.com/calendar/ • To create a new calendar: • DON’T use giant Create button (it’s for creating events) • Click the drop-down arrow to the right of My calendars • Select Create new calendar • Enter information about your new calendar • Click the Create new calendar button • You can just add stuff to the calendar manually, or…

  3. Importing Calendars From Outlook to Google • Export your Outlook Calendar • File>Open>Import (even though we are exporting)

  4. Exporting from Outlook (con’t) • Export to a File>Comma Separated Values (Windows) • Choose the calendar folder • Give it a name • In Google Calendar • My Calendar> Settings> Import Calendar • Browse to file

  5. Embedding the Google Calendar • Two approaches • Full monthly calendar on 2 column template (500 px wide) • Agenda only in right column of homepage (200 px wide) • Double-click the calendar • Click Customize the color… • Set default view and size

  6. Calendar Wiz • $8 a month • Northern Region has one set up • Well-suited to right column of home page • Need a username/password? Give me a call • Login>Admin menu>Web Widgets>Mini-calendar widget • MiniCal tab to work with colors, fonts, headers • Script tab to choose categories, get code • Copy-and-paste the code!

  7. Importing Outlook into Calendarwiz • Won’t do this, so I don’t add my calendar to the Northern Regional calendar • Outlook export step is the same as Google • Login>Admin menu>Import Events

  8. Upcoming Events View • Login>Admin menu>Web Widgets>Upcoming Events List Widget • Copy-and-paste the code
