  5. Pool of peace • Krater ontstaan na de ontploffing van een dieptemijn in 1917 • Vijver van 12 meter diep • Oase van rust en groen • Craterthat was formedafter a big mine explosion in 1917 • A 12 meters deep pool • A quietplace in the middle of the nature

Bayernwald Men kan er zien hoe de Duitsers onder leiding van Rupprecht van Beieren op deze plek in de huidige gemeente Heuvelland een 40 meter hoge heuvel hadden aangelegd die ze tussen 1914 en1917 tot een ongrijpbarevesting ombouwden. Wat nu nog te zien is maakt amper 10% uit van wat het ooit was. Vier betonnen bunkers, 320 meter loopgraven en twee mijnschachten, 25 meter diep, zijn gerestaureerd in het Croonaertbos.

  7. Bayernwald A German site in WW1! The Germantroops has on the command of RupprechtvonBayernconstructed a 40 meters high hillthat was almostuntouchableduring 1914-1918. It was aavery important andstrategic site on the frontline. Today, only 10 % is left of the huge site: 4 concrete bunkers, 320 meters of tranches and 2 restored mine shafts of 320 m deep in the Croonaertbushes.
