  4. Corporate Governance Institute • The Corporate Governance Institute (CGI), founded in 1998, is an SDSU research and education center dedicated to the study and application of responsible corporate governance principles worldwide.

  5. CGI History • Founded in 1998 as a joint venture of SDSU and the Corporate Directors Forum • Curriculum initiatives include • One of the first MBA Corporate Governance courses offered in the U.S. (1999) • Required EMBA course since Spring 2007 • Undergraduate course in “Business Ethics and Corporate Governance” • International network of corporate governance scholars

  6. CGI Goals • Make high-level corporate governance speakers available to the San Diego public and students • Offer scholarships to graduate students writing theses on corporate governance topics • Offer competitive research grants and prizes • Continue support of international “Friends and Fellows” research network • Form influential new Advisory Board
