  1. Nervous Patients Treatment at GB Dental GB Dental Practice in Ipswich was established as a family dental practice in the 1970's. As our business grew, we began to receive referrals from other dentists for more complicated treatments which they were unable or unwilling to perform within their own practices, and we now complete work on behalf of a variety of dentists whose patients are based throughout the local area. If you are looking for an experienced dentist who can offer a comprehensive range of dental treatments to patients of all ages. Children’s Dentistry: During your first consultation we will carry out a very careful and gentle assessment in a relaxed and friendly manner. Any treatment will be carefully explained to both the child and their parents before any dental treatment goes ahead. Common paediatric dental treatments include: cleaning and removing of decay, fillings and hypoplasia, which are a relatively common condition where the dental enamel is hard, but thin, leaving the teeth vulnerable. Dental Implant: A dental implant is an artificial, substitute tooth root made from titanium, which is placed into the space your previous root occupied. A natural, tooth-coloured crown is then placed over the dental implant. Gum Treatment: Gum disease is present in about 90% of the population to some degree or other. It ranges from mild gingivitis, which may give rise to some bleeding when you brush, to periodontal disease (known as pyorrhoea), where pocketing around the teeth occurs with bone loss. In severe cases the teeth become loose and can fall out. Plaque with the associated bacteria is the main cause of gum problems and so the treatment is based on its reduction. Oral Hygiene: Having poor oral hygiene can lead to variety of dental and medical problems in the future such as gum disease, infection, bone loss, heart disease, strokes and more. Regular check-ups and cleaning can prevent problems as well as provide you with good oral hygiene. At GB Dental we offer scaling and Polishing for your dental hygiene. Root Canal Treatment: Root canal treatment (also called ‘endodontics’) is needed when the blood or nerve supply of a tooth (called pulp) is infected through decay or injury. You may not feel any pain in the early stages of the infection. In some cases your tooth could darken in colour, which may mean that the nerve of the tooth has died (or dying). White Fillings: Benefits of White Fillings are White, cosmetic fillings can last 20 years!. Cosmetic fillings are nearly identical from the natural tooth tissue. They won’t decay underneath. They are strong and less prone to fracture. They are so much better (for both tooth and patient) then mercury fillings and they look good too!
