  1. ‘MALAYSIA MY SECOND HOME’ • Malaysian government welcomes all foreign citizens to enter and stay in Malaysia (except Israel, Montenegro and Yugoslavia). • This program is open to all category of citizens with no age limit, and are allowed to bring along their dependents who are schooling or not and also one maid. • If a married couple apply, the oldest person’s age decides the appropriate criteria.

  2. ‘MALAYSIA MY SECOND HOME’ • Participants can bring all their household effects and one car duty free into Malaysia. • Alternatively new visa holders may acquire a car in Malaysia free of any duty. However advance approval is required to take advantage of the tax free car benefit.

  3. ‘MALAYSIA MY SECOND HOME’ • Taxes • Successful applicant are bound by the policies, systems and regulations of taxes of this country. However their overseas income will not be taxed in Malaysia. • Education • Applicant are allowed to bring along their dependants either schooling or not. However dependants who are schooling are required to apply for a Student Pass.

  4. ‘MALAYSIA MY SECOND HOME’ • Insurance Coverage / Medical Report Applicants must possess a medical insurance coverage from any insurance company valid in Malaysia. They are also required to have a medical examination. • Security Vetting Approvals are given subject to security veting clearance conducted by the Royal Malaysian Police.

  5. ‘MALAYSIA MY SECOND HOME’ • Restrictions Successful applicants are STRICTLY forbidden from: • Being employed anywhere in Malaysia unless approved by the government. • Participating in activities that can be considered as sensitive to the local people like political or missionary activities.

  6. ‘MALAYSIA MY SECOND HOME’ • Finance and Income (applicants above 50 yrs) • Applicant must have Fixed Deposit (in a local Malaysian bank) of RM 150,000 OR monthly income of not less than RM 10,000. • If they choose the fixed deposit, can withdraw RM 90,000 for purchase of house, medical insurance or children’s education after placed FD for1 year. • Must maintain minimum balance of RM 60,000 throughout their stay under this programme. • Can be issued with a Social Visit Pass for a duration of 10 years together with a Multiple Entry Visa.

  7. ‘MALAYSIA MY SECOND HOME’ • Finance and Income (applicants below 50 yrs) • Applicant must have Fixed Deposit (in a local Malaysian bank) of RM 300,000 • Can withdraw up to RM 240,000 for purchase of house, medical insurance or children’s education expenses after placed FD for 1 year. • Must maintain minimum balance of RM 60,000 from second year onwards throughout stay in Malaysia under this programme. • Can be issued with a Social Visit Pass for a duration of 10 years together with a Multiple Entry Visa.

  9. “Participants don’t have to stay in the country. In fact, a lot of people who apply for this programme do so for the MEV, which makes it easy for them to Come into the country to oversee their Investments here, or to visit their child- ren who are studying here.” The programme allows an applicant to bring in dependents as well as one maid.
