  1. Belgium Friday 18th – Sunday 20th September 2015

  2. For the last seven years, Runnymede • Swimming Club has taken part in an • international swimming gala held in Belgium. OZV Swimming Club in Overpelt, near Antwerp, hosts the gala, where Runnymede is one of 12 international clubs from Holland, Belgium and Germany.

  3. The purpose of the trip is primarily to enjoy the experience of competing in an international gala as well as forming friendships with swimmers from other countries.

  4. Usual Itinerary: • Friday - Day: coach/ferry (via Dover) • - Evening - Meal • Saturday - Morning swim session • - Afternoon swim session • - Evening meal • Sunday - Morning swim session • - Afternoon swim session • - Evening return coach/ferry

  5. Swimming in an international competition • inspires the team to greater heights! Swimmers have a sense of pride as they represent their country when the “National Anthem” is played at the opening ceremony.

  6. There is a great sense of team spirit! The swimmers all warm up together and support each other throughout the weekend.

  7. The pool is light, clean and modern. There is • a recreational area for swimmers and • spectators.

  8. Outside of the swimming pool there is a • chance to have lunch and relax!

  9. Accommodation is at ‘t Pelterke, • which is a modern, clean youth hostel five • minutes from the swimming pool.

  10. Entrance Playground Bedrooms Barbeque and Bar area

  11. Feedback from children and parents over • the past few years say it’s a fun, worthwhile • trip and we usually bring home a few medals!
