Engineering Design • Central Concepts: Engineering design involves practical problem solving, research, development, and invention/innovation, and requires designing, drawing, building, testing, and redesigning. Students should demonstrate the ability to use the engineering design process to solve a problem or meet a challenge. Ma.Science and Engineering Framework 2006

  8. Student : Skillfully and imaginatively describe what your first prototype will look like. The robot will have two motors parallel to each other but they will be close enough to have gears climb the rope. The nxt computer will hang from the wires of the motors.

  16. Redesign Overhaul the solution(s) based on information gathered during testing and self-assessment activity. I would use wheels instead of gears because wheels can create a variable of tensions that would be easier o work with than gears Ma.Science and Engineering Framework 2006
