SGP In Jamaica • The SGP in Jamaica was formally launched in June 2005 • Projects are implemented in Jamaica in one of three focal areas of the GEF: Biodiversity Conservation, Climate Change Mitigation and Prevention of Land Degradation • Call for proposals are issued three times annually in time for the January, May and September sittings of the NSC. • There are over 50 projects funded to date, with over30 projects under implementation • The CBA Projects are developed using the mechanism of the SGP.

  5. NGO/CBO contacts NC and receives guidelines and application form 2. The NGO/CBO prepares a project concept paper and submits it to NC 3.National coordinator pre-screens project concept paper. 4. If eligible for funding the proponent then prepares project proposal. May be accompanied by planning grant 5.Completed Project proposals submitted to the NSC by the NC 6.The NSC reviews the proposal, accepts, rejects for sends back proposal for review of project data Pool of Approved Projects The GEF SGP Defined– The Approval Process
