Led By Adani Group , AdaniGodda Project has gained significant attention, as it is one of the important thermal project which has the capacity of 1600 MW and will also be helping to strengthen geopolitical relationships between Bangladesh and India. It is aimed at establishing a thermal power plant and a captive coal mine in the Godda district of Jharkhand, India. It is focused on illuminating various parts of Bangladesh with the power it will generate, so far, these areas have been mostly deprived of power supply or it has been irregular. Even the remote areas of this nation will be able to plan their growth as electricity will unlock doors to many opportunities. • The Objective and Scope of the Project: • Primarily, the objective of the AdaniGodda Projectis to set up a 1,600-megawatt (MW) thermal power plant. This is in addition to a captive coal mine to fuel the plant’s operations.

  3. The power plant is expected to provide electricity to Bangladesh through a dedicated transmission line. Thereby, it will be promoting cross-border energy trade and regional cooperation. The captive coal mine would ensure a reliable supply of fuel to the power plant. By doing so, it will reduce dependency on external sources. • Employment and Economic Benefits: • One of the major advantages of the Godda project is its potential to generate employment. By doing so, it will boost the local economy. The project is expected to create thousands of direct and indirect job opportunities. They will be facilitated during the construction phase and in ongoing operations. • Not only in India but even in Bangladesh, employment benefits will be observed. Since the country will be able to deal with the challenge of electricity, it can focus on using this source for various processes. To manage these processes, both skilled and unskilled labor will be required. • Additionally, this project aims to stimulate economic growth in the region by providing business opportunities to local suppliers and contractors.
