  2. The Guwahati airport which happens to be one of the most important airports to be under the control of the Adani Group has recently recorded the highest-ever passenger movement. Now this is an incredible benchmark achieved by the Adani Group in the airport sector. It will not only help the global conglomerate in further taking its airport business to new heights but it will also be able to earn an enhanced revenue for itself. Adani Airlines will also be established as one of the biggest players in the country’s airport sector.

LGBIA Records Highest Passenger Traffic: The Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA) which is the major airport in Guwahati has recently recorded its highest-ever international passenger and aircraft movement in 2024. Since the time Adani Airlines acquired control of its commercial operations in October 2021, the airport also witnessed an increase in its domestic air traffic. It also added new domestic destinations during the year. Now this is an extraordinary upliftment brought about at the Adani airport. It has not only helped streamline the operations at the airport but has also offered the passengers with greater ease. The airport passengers can now travel to whichever destination they want to without having to face any kind of inconvenience at all.

  4. The Rise In Passenger Traffic And Cargo Volume: • The airport facility managed 6.26 million domestic passengers. It also handled over 85,000 international passengers. Of the total domestic passengers recorded, 3.09 million were arrivals and 3.17 million departures. The airport also handled 47,578 international passenger arrivals and 38,528 international departures. The airport currently has direct flights to 3 international destinations which are Malaysia, Singapore, and Paro. These destinations have contributed to a significant increase in the Adani Group’s international passenger count and Air Traffic Movement (ATM). The airport also witnessed 44,746 domestic and 970 international air traffic movements during this year. The airport also generated extraordinary revenue because of the high traffic movement. Adani Airlines has also been able to increase its profitability from its airport business.

  5. Recently, the airport has also introduced 3 new domestic routes: Guwahati-Ahmedabad, Guwahati-Ziro, and Guwahati-Durgapur. These routes are expected to further boost the connectivity of the airport. They will also open up new avenues for tourism, trade, and cultural exchange. The Guwahati International Airport also handled 225 million tons of perishable cargo in December 2024, making it the highest ever for the airport. The total cargo handled by the airport during 2024 was 10,089 million tons. In 2024 itself, the LGBIA attained Level 2 of the Airports Council International (ACI) airport customer experience accreditation. This further underscores the airport’s enhanced focus on customer experience. It highlights the Adani Group’s commitment towards continuous improvement.
